U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said reports that the White House is planning to force him out in the next few weeks are “laughable,” the Associated Press reported Friday. Tillerson said twice that the reports are “laughable” while meeting with Libyan Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj at the State Department. His comment comes a day after the The New York Times reported that the White House is planning to replace Tillerson, who has had a strained relationship with President Trump, with CIA director Mike Pompeo.
