GOP Senator Blasts Mayorkas For Allowing ‘Sleeper Cells’ Into U.S.

DOG WHISTLE

South Carolina Senator Tim Scott took repeated jabs at Alejandro Mayorkas for ‘not doing his job’ as outgoing Secretary of Homeland Security.

A top-ranking Republican has raised the spectre of hostile foreign agents embedded across the U.S. while taking potshots at outgoing Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas.

Speaking on Fox News’ Hannity, Senator Tim Scott railed against Mayorkas’ record on border security while lavishing praise on Donald Trump’s cabinet picks and pledged mass deportation drive once the president-elect formally assumes office on Monday.

Earlier on Thursday, Mayorkas delivered a parting press conference to provide an overview of the Department of Homeland Security’s efforts over the past four years, warning “I don’t think the American public understands the breadth and diversity of the challenges this department confronts and overcomes.”

Reacting to some of Mayorkas comments, host Sean Hannity said on Friday, “Okay they need more time, in order to do what, more damage, allowing more terrorists, more murderers, more rapists, more cartel members, more gang members, more fentanyl? They didn’t do enough damage?”

He added, “No thank you, goodbye, don’t let the door hit you on the a-- on the way out.”

Scott then chimed in, “Amen, bottom line is that, listen, we have sleeper cells in our country, I’m confident of that, because Mayorkas did not do his job.”

He then went on, “If he thought he didn’t have the ability to do his job, he should have resigned. Who wants to oversee the greatest invasion of America through the southern border in our history? No-one!”

Asked by Hannity what he thought the odds were of terrorist actors already in the U.S. successfully carrying out a 9/11-scale attack in future, Scott said the “good news” was Trump has supposedly assembled the only kind of crack team that could possibly tackle that kind of threat: his incoming cabinet.

Scott further called on “every single Republican in the senate” to confirm Trump’s picks, adding “we must have the actual apparatus in place so that Trump and his team put in place the plan to defeat [the terrorists’] plan.”
