Grown Man Who Falsely Claimed to Be Missing Boy Timmothy Pitzen Is Jailed
LOCKED UP
The 23-year-old Ohio man who falsely claimed to be missing boy Timmothy Pitzen has been jailed, according to local media. Brian Rini caused heartbreak for Pizten’s family when, after telling cops he was the boy who went missing in Illinois eight years ago, DNA tests showed he was lying. The man was booked into Hamilton County Jail around 11 p.m. Thursday, according to the jail’s website. He’s on a holder for the FBI and not being held on criminal charges, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported, and is expected to be picked up by the FBI on Friday morning. Newport Police Chief Tom Collins said his department and the FBI are looking at pursuing charges but it’s not yet clear exactly what kind of charges Rini could face. His brother Jonathan said Thursday: “He’s been doing stupid stuff, not [this] serious, but stupid stuff for as long as I can remember... I hope he gets help and I hope he goes to prison for this. Or at least an institution.”
