TNR: Clinton Foundation Has Shady Ties

The New Republic takes a hard look at Doug Band, former President Bill Clinton’s onetime body man turned trusted adviser at the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation—and who has since left the foundation. The most damning evidence against Band are his ties to Teneo, an “exclusive consulting firm” with an (at-best) unclear mission statement. Chelsea Clinton even brought in an outside law firm to audit Teneo, and Band has since been cast out at the foundation. The New Republic piece comes out the same day as a polished profile of Hillary Clinton in New York, which briefly mentions the Band connection, including a quote from Bill Clinton that he couldn’t have accomplished “half of what I have in my post-presidency without Doug Band.”
