A toddler in Hangzhou, China, was caught by a bystander after falling out a 10-story window. Thirty-one-year-old Wu Juping was passing underneath the building when she heard shouting. Looking up, she saw the toddler balanced on a window ledge. Wu kicked off her heels and ran to the building. “I opened my arms subconsciously when I heard the scream from above,” she said. “Then I just felt a strong pain in my left arm, I fell on the ground and passed out.” Wu sustained multiple fractures to her arm, and the child suffered only minor abdominal bruising. The president of the local hospital said he will treat Wu for free. “When she reached out, she was putting her own life at risk,” he said.
