An earthquate with a preliminary magnitude reading of 6.9 hit Tokyo Tuesday night, according to a Reuters report. The quake was measured 250 miles below the earth's surface, roughly 360 miles south of Tokyo, public broadcaster NHK said. Tokyo Electric Power Co. stated that there are no irregularities at the Fukushima nuclear plant. There are no tsunami threats issued and no immediate reports of injuries or damage, though witnesses reported seeing buildings shaking.
