Labor Secretary Tom Perez will reportedly launch a bid to become the next chairman of the Democratic National Committee this week. He will be challenging Rep. Keith Ellison, who has received numerous congressional and union endorsements. Perez is likely to announce on Thursday. He has been quietly pushed to run as an alternative to Ellison, who has faced some backlash from the Anti-Defamation League for past remarks that were critical of Israel to a certain degree.
