Recently in Los Angeles, I had the pleasure of moderating an event with Tony Blair for his Faith Foundation. The aim of the event was a call to action for faith-based groups on how they can work together to reach the Millennium Development Goals; the focus was also on what role young people of faith can play in this process. The panel featured Saleema Abdul-Gahfur of Malaria No More and the formidable Islamic scholar Hamza Yusef. The discussion was streamed across the world via MySpace. The interactive session took questions from the audience and from viewers watching. It was a lively debate which saw Tony Blair and Hamza Yusef clash on more than one occasion. To see more of the event go to www.tonyblairfaithfoundation.org I was also able to sit down for a chat with Tony Blair after the event, during this discussion he gave me his take on the federal Wall Street ‘Bail-out Plan’ and what the next American President needs to do to improve America’s standing in the world. I tried to press him on whom he was secretly supporting, but he wouldn’t bite-maybe next time.
