The scarlet B of Blago continues to drive supporters away from Illinois Senator Roland Burris, who now stands accused of misleading officials and his constituency about his relationship with the impeached and ejected ex-governor. The latest evacuee? Burris Chief of Staff Darrel Thompson, a former Harry Reid adviser assigned to help Burris build his staff and start legislating after his appointment. Thompson released a good-natured (if frustratingly low on details) statement announcing his resignation, wishing Burris good luck and announcing his return to Reid's staff. Illinois Governor and Blago replacement Pat Quinn asked Burris to resign on Friday.
