The Chief Information Officer at the agency in charge of the federal healthcare website resigned on Wednesday. Tony Trenkle, the CIO at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is leaving the agency for the private sector. The resignation by Trenkle came on the same day that embattled HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was testifying before Congress. Officials with CMS would not say whether the resignation was a result of the botched healthcare website.
