Musin al-Fadhli, the leader of a group of Al Qaeda operatives called the Khorasan Group, has been confirmed dead. Al-Fadhli—one of a few Al Qaeda leaders who got advance notification of the attacks on Sept. 11, 2001—was killed in a kinetic strike while riding in a vehicle on July 8 near the town of Sarmada in Syria, according to the Pentagon. “His death will degrade and disrupt ongoing external operations of Al Qaeda against the United States and our allies and partners,” Pentagon spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said in a statement.
