The general counsel for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Will A. Gunn, as well as its acting undersecretary for health, Dr. Robert L. Jesse, have resigned, the agency announced Wednesday. The two resignations are “aimed at accelerating veterans’ access to quality health care and rebuilding the trust of America’s veterans.” Gunn has been VA general counsel since May 2009; Jesse has been acting undersecretary for health since May 16. Acting VA Secretary Sloan Gibson took these steps less than a month after succeeding Eric Shinseki at the top of the agency.
