Joe Biden has a new concern to add to the turmoil he has faced since his disastrous debate with Donald Trump. The president’s Wall Street allies are reportedly discussing their next move after more leading Democrats called on him to withdraw from the presidential race. One Wall Street CEO suggested to The New York Times that there was an “inevitability” to Biden stepping aside. Some donors are suggesting “elegant” ways for the president to leave the race to preserve his reputation. In contrast, others are focused on how Biden’s withdrawal could affect the Democratic Party and the 2024 election. Although there are growing calls for Biden to pull out of the race, polls indicate that his support in swing states hasn’t shifted since the debate, according to the Times. Now, all eyes are on Tuesday morning, when the House Democratic caucus will meet and lawmakers could push for Biden to step down.
