At least two victims were killed and 12 injured in a mass shooting in Toronto’s Greektown neighborhood late Sunday night. The gunman opened fire on the Danforth, a street filled with open-air restaurants and pedestrians, with a witness telling the AP he heard 20 to 30 shots. A video from one witness shows a man dressed in black clothes and a black hat walking quickly and firing three shots from the sidewalk into at least one shop or restaurant. Police later said the gunman was also dead. Police Chief Mark Saunders did not rule out terrorism as a motive, and said a girl aged 8 or 9 was in critical condition. Toronto Councilor Paula Fletcher said she’d heard the gunman was emotionally disturbed. “It’s not gang-related. It looks like someone who is very disturbed,” she said.
