The two California parents accused of torturing and holding their own 13 children captive for years have been barred from contacting them until at least 2021. A Riverside County Superior Court judge on Wednesday issued a three-year protective order prohibiting the parents, David and Louise Turpin, from having any “personal, telephone or electronic or written contact” with their children. They have also been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from their children as part of the order, which expires on Jan. 24, 2021. The couple is accused of severely abusing and torturing the children, who were allegedly starved, restrained on their beds for weeks at a time, and subjected to beatings and strangulation. They face as much as 94 years in prison if convicted on numerous counts of torture, false imprisonment, and abuse. The 13 siblings, who range in age from 2 to 29 years, were found by police last week after one of them escaped and called 911.
