Toyota has agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by Prius owners who complained that the headlights on their hybrid vehicles shut off without warning. Toyota will reimburse drivers for the cost of replacing the failing headlight systems. As many as 320,000 Prius owners may be eligible for payments. Putting an end to the case helps finish at least one problem on the embattled Japanese carmaker's growing legal docket. The automaker still faces hundreds of lawsuits based on claims of sudden acceleration and rollover problems.
