Egyptian officials have announced that traces of explosives were found on the remains of victims of Flight 804, which crashed into the Mediterranean in May en route from Paris to Cairo. The new information about the crash evidently confirms the theory that an explosion caused the plane’s demise, killing 66 people on board. Egyptian officials said Thursday that they would launch a criminal investigation into the downed Airbus A320 following the new discovery. Passengers on board were from France, Egypt, Iraq, Canada, Algeria, Belgium, Britain, and elsewhere.
