Two Union Pacific crew members were killed when two freight trains collided in Hoxie, Arkansas early Sunday morning, and two others were injured. Many residents were evacuated over concerns that the crash may have caused a toxic chemical spill, but most have been permitted to return. According to Arkansas State Police, Pacific Union officials say the trains may have been carrying as many as 14 chemicals, some of which might be toxic. State police spokesman Bill Sadier said, "There is air monitoring sampling under way, to determine exactly whether any of the chemicals may have harmed the environment in the area."
