In more heartening police news, two transit officers gave a very special Christmas gift to a Philadelphia woman when they jumped on a subway train to help deliver her baby Thursday, according to the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. Sgt. Daniel Caban and Officer Dorrell James hopped on the Market-Frankford line train as it stopped underground in Center City. “As soon as we got there, I could see the baby’s head coming through her sweatpants, and we just went right to work,” Caban said. The mother and baby were taken to Hahnemann University Hospital and are in good condition, according to a SEPTA spokeswoman.
