The Colorado jogger who managed to kill a mountain lion with his bare hands after the animal started biting and clawing at his face spoke out for the first time Thursday. “It very much turned into just a full-on fight for survival,” Travis Kauffman, 31, said in a press conference at Horsetooth Mountain Open Space in Fort Collins, Colorado. He described how he ended up killing the lion by stepping on its neck, comparing it to “a wrestling match.” “It was pure adrenaline,” he added. Kauffman suffered a number of injuries from the attack, including more than 20 scratches on his face, but did not suffer any broken bones.
