Comedy Central has selected Trevor Noah to succeed Jon Stewart as host of The Daily Show. In an interview with the Associated Press following the news on Monday, he found common ground with Stewart, saying, "We are both progressives...I'll bring something different because I'm different, but because it's a team, it'll be the same as well." He said he was eager to cover the 2016 elections, and pledged to cover "what needs to be talked about, whether it's race relations of politics or anything that's happening on a global or an American scale."
