After much speculation that he would do it, South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy officially endorsed Marco Rubio for president on Tuesday afternoon. According to Fox News, the chairman of the House Select Committee on Benghazi told a town hall crowd in Iowa that “I found hope in the son of a barkeep and housekeeper. I found my candidate. It’s Marco Rubio.” The congressman added that he will back Rubio largely on the strength of his foreign policy convictions. “What good is freedom of speech if you’re dead or living in fear?” Gowdy remarked.
