President Donald Trump has snapped at yet another female reporter who asked him a difficult question.
During an executive order signing in the Oval Office on Tuesday, the 79-year-old was asked by NewsNation’s Libbey Dean whether Iran would have to make a deal for him to end the U.S. military intervention there and whether he had spoken directly with anyone in the country.
“Iran doesn’t have to make a deal, no,” Trump said. “Yeah, I’ve spoken to a lot of people.
“It’s a, it’s a new regime. They are much more accessible. They are right, you know, they said, ‘We have a present for you, Mr. President, out of respect.’ And they said—”
Trump paused as Dean tried to steer him back to the questions she had asked, at which point he flipped at her.
“Wait a minute,” he interjected. “You wanted me to answer the question. You’re a fresh person, you know? We’ve had a lot of problems with you, haven’t we?”
Trump then answered the question. “Uh, no, they don’t. You asked me a question. No, they don’t have to make a deal with me. When we feel that they are for a long period of time put into the Stone Ages and they won’t be able to come up with a nuclear weapon, then we’ll leave. Whether we have a deal or not, it’s irrelevant.”
The president’s Iran war is now a month old, having killed thousands, including 13 Americans, and closed the Strait of Hormuz, sending U.S. retail gas prices rocketing past $4 a gallon for the first time since Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022.
It’s not the first time Trump has snapped at reporters, especially women.
Earlier this month, he was on Air Force One en route to Washington, D.C., from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida when he was asked by an ABC News reporter about his political action committee’s use of a somber image from a dignified repatriation of service members killed in Iran.
The reporter asked whether Trump thought Never Surrender Inc.’s use of the picture for fundraising was appropriate, to which he said, “Yeah, I do,” before backpedaling.
“I didn’t see it. I mean, somebody puts it up. We have a lot of people working for us. There’s nobody that’s better to the military than me. Who’re you with? Who are you with?”
When the reporter told him, he opened fire on ABC. “One of the worst, most fake, most corrupt,” he said. “I think it’s maybe the most corrupt news organizations on the planet. I think they’re terrible. I don’t want any more from ABC.”
In early February, the president laid into CNN’s Kaitlan Collins, 33, when she asked him what he would like to say to the survivors of convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.
“You are so bad. You know, you are the worst reporter. No wonder,” Trump said. “CNN has no ratings because of people like you.”
He then turned to the room. “She’s a young woman. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile. I’ve known you for 10 years. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a smile on your face.”
In November, again on board Air Force One, he was asked by Bloomberg White House correspondent Catherine Lucey about Epstein, to which he said, “quiet, quiet, piggy.”
Then, in May last year, when he was asked a tough question by a NOTUS reporter about congressional GOP support for his so-called “Big Beautiful Bill,” he asked where the reporter worked and said, “I don’t even know what the hell that is.”
The Daily Beast has contacted the White House for comment.
