The Trump administration is cutting a program intended to promote Affordable Care Act enrollment by 90 percent. The fund will be cut from $100 million to just $10 million, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called the move a “cynical effort to lower enrollment.” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said the administration “is deliberately attempting to sabotage our health care system.” The Senate health committee is scheduled to hold four hearings when Congress returns to Washington on possible market-stabilization measures for the health-care law. In August, the Trump administration announced it was re-authorizing Obamacare subsidies in the near-term, a move that stabilizes premiums while Congress works to hash out a longer-term solution.
