President Trump devoted a mere seven words to America’s fallen soldiers in his Memorial Day tweet Monday before using the day of remembrance to boast about himself. “Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today,” he wrote, before going on to tout the “best economy in decades” and “lowest unemployment numbers for blacks and Hispanics EVER.” He went on to post a series of tweets railing against the Russia investigation, the Justice Department, and the Obama administration. American veterans only seemed to get the president’s undivided attention when he delivered remarks at Arlington National Cemetery, where he honored those who “died so that freedom could live.”
