With the midterm elections over and the threat of additional indictments apparently looming large on his mind, President Donald Trump turned his anger to Robert Mueller and his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, calling his team “a disgrace to our nation” in a Thursday morning tweet. Fresh indictments stemming from the investigation are expected imminently, according to several reports, and the president appeared keen to get in a pre-emptive strike. “The inner workings of the Mueller investigation are a total mess,” he wrote. “They have found no collusion and have gone absolutely nuts. They are screaming and shouting at people, horribly threatening them to come up with the answers they want. They are a disgrace to our Nation and don’t care how many lives the ruin. These are Angry People, including the highly conflicted Bob Mueller, who worked for Obama for 8 years. They won’t even look at all of the bad acts and crimes on the other side. A TOTAL WITCH HUNT LIKE NO OTHER IN AMERICAN HISTORY!” Separately, he claimed the White House is “running very smoothly,” despite numerous reports detailing turmoil since the president returned from his trip to France.
