President Donald Trump called his personal attorney, Michael Cohen, on Friday to “check in” as their lawyers went to court in an attempt to block the Justice Department from “reading seized documents” related to Cohen’s work with Trump, according to The New York Times. It was not clear what was said on the call, but the newspaper reported that both Trump and Cohen were reportedly still “trying to determine what exactly was seized” in Monday’s FBI raid on Cohen’s residence, office, hotel room, and safety deposit box. The newspaper also reported that Trump aides consider the inquiry into Cohen “greater and more imminent threat” than the Special Counsel investigation. It was revealed Friday that authorities have seized Cohen’s electronics and obtained covert warrants allowing them to read his emails. During Monday’s raid, the feds reportedly seized materials related to payments given to Stormy Daniels and Karen McDougal—both of whom claim they had affairs with the president.
