President Trump claims a recent New York Times story about White House counsel Don McGahn cooperating in the Russia probe is so “fake” other “members of the media” have called him to apologize for it. “The Failing New York Times wrote a story that made it seem like the White House Councel [sic] had TURNED on the President, when in fact it is just the opposite - & the two Fake reporters knew this,” Trump wrote on Twitter early Sunday. He went on to say other unspecified members of the press are “angry” at the Times for the story and had “actually called to complain and apologize.” The president also reiterated his assertions that McGahn is not a “rat” but had instead been “allowed” to testify in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.
