It couldn’t last forever. President Trump on Friday finally tweeted a response to former FBI Director James Comey’s hours-long testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, claiming “total and complete vindication.” Trump was silent on Twitter during Comey’s bombshell hearing, in which the former top cop alleged that the president fired him over the Russia investigation and pressured him to drop the probe into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, and admitted to telling the press about memos he wrote following his uncomfortable solo meetings with the president. Trump wrote, “Despite so many false statements and lies, total and complete vindication...and WOW, Comey is a leaker!” On Thursday afternoon, President Trump’s personal lawyer, Marc Kasowitz, responded to the testimony by also going after Comey’s “unauthorized disclosures” of “privileged information” in feeding his memos to the press after his firing.
