The tension was palpable in the moments leading up to George H.W. Bush’s funeral service Wednesday, when President Trump took his seat in the front pew without acknowledging Hillary and Bill Clinton. As Trump and Melania walked towards the pew, Hillary looked stoically forward, eventually nodding warmly at Melania, who shook hands with Barack, Michelle, and Bill. Trump then shook hands with Barack and Michelle before turning forward and ignoring Bill, who looked visibly annoyed. Hillary did not seem to acknowledge Trump’s presence.
