James MacDonald, megachurch pastor of the Illinois-based megachurch Harvest Bible Chapel who served as a member of Donald Trump’s evangelical council, condemned the nominee in an email revealed Monday. Reacting to a tape released Friday that revealed Trump luridly discussing groping women, MacDonald described the footage as “misogynistic trash that reveals a man to be lecherous and worthless.” He went on to say that he was not willing to offer Trump any more assistance unless he sees a “change of heart and direction.”

Correction: This article previously misstated that the condemnation of Trump came from Ed Stetzer, an evangelism professor at Illinois’s Wheaton College. Stetzer only published McDonald’s letter on his blog, and Stetzer has never served on Trump’s council.
