Jim Murphy, who was serving as Donald Trump’s national political director, is no longer taking an active role in the presidential campaign. “I have not resigned but for personal reasons have had to take a step back from the campaign,” Murphy said in a statement to Politico. He was previously helping set up field programs throughout a number of battleground states. There were already concerns that Trump’s operation on the ground was lagging behind those of his opponent Hillary Clinton.
