President Donald Trump on Sunday lashed out at conservatives who opposed the American Health Care Act, the GOP’s replacement plan for Obamacare which was pulled from the House floor on Friday, accusing them of saving the Affordable Care Act and Planned Parenthood. “Democrats are smiling in D.C. that the Freedom Caucus, with the help of Club for Growth and Heritage, have saved Planned Parenthood & [Obamacare]!” Trump tweeted, referring to the group of hardline House conservatives who opposed the AHCA. The administration also faced stiff opposition to the plan from influential conservative groups such as Heritage Action and the Club for Growth, among others. Rep. Mark Meadows, the chairman of the Freedom Caucus, responded to the tweet during an appearance on ABC’s This Week by praising Trump and promising that the president “will deliver” after conservatives and moderates come together to agree on a solution. In the wake of the failed health care push, Fox host and Trump booster Jeanine Pirro on Saturday night called on Paul Ryan to step down as House speaker. Early in the day, Trump promoted the show on his Twitter account and urged people to watch.
