Donald Trump Jr.’s lawyer told CNN that he spoke with the unnamed eighth attendee at a June 2016 meeting between members of the Trump campaign and a Russian lawyer. The unnamed person was a U.S. citizen who was not employed by the Russian government, Trump Jr.’s lawyer, Alan Futerfas, said, adding that he did not know the unnamed person’s entire background. The Trump Tower meeting was reportedly attended by Trump Jr.; Donald Trump’s then-campaign chairman Paul Manafort; Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner; music publicist Rob Goldstone; Russian lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin; a translator; and an unnamed person.
