President Donald Trump announced the date and location of his long-expected meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in a tweet Thursday morning. “The highly anticipated meeting between Kim Jong Un and myself will take place in Singapore on June 12th,” Trump wrote. “We will both try to make it a very special moment for World Peace!” Before the official announcement, the meeting was believed to happen this summer. The president had floated either the North-South Korea DMZ or Singapore as possible locations for the summit—but later ruled out the DMZ.
