President Trump took to Twitter Wednesday to attack lawyer Michael Avenatti, whose client Julie Swetnick swore in a statement to the Senate that Kavanaugh was “present” during her gang rape. “Avenatti is a third rate lawyer who is good at making false accusations, like he did on me and like he is now doing on Judge Brett Kavanaugh,” Trump wrote. “He is just looking for attention and doesn’t want people to look at his past record and relationships - a total low-life!” While speaking to reporters Wednesday, Trump was asked if he thought all three women with allegations against Kavanaugh are “lying.” He responded, “What’s your next question?” Avenatti tweeted Swetnick’s full statement Wednesday, writing, “We demand an immediate FBI investigation into the allegations. Under no circumstances should Brett Kavanaugh be confirmed absent a full and complete investigation.”
