President Trump reportedly lashed out at CNN and mocked House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi before a crowd of 300 supporters, Republican Party leaders, and GOP donors at a closed-door fundraising event Wednesday night in Washington, D.C. Citing two people who attended the event—Trump’s first fundraiser for his 2020 re-election campaign—Politico said the president continued his tirade against CNN, presenting himself as a victim of what he described as the network’s flawed reporting. He also took aim at Pelosi, joking that her position as Democratic leader was a gift to Republicans. While his legislative agenda has had numerous setbacks, Trump reportedly listed his accomplishments in office and boasted about Republican victories in special elections. An organizer said about $10 million was raised, to be divided between Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee, according to Politico.
