While Trump should have been listening to an infrastructure briefing from his then-chief economic adviser at Camp David last year, the president was instead scribbling “copious notes“ about “Sloppy Steve,” a.k.a his ally-turned-ex-adviser Steve Bannon, according to an excerpt from a new book cited Wednesday by The Washington Post. The book, authored by two Politico congressional reporters, reportedly claims that “As Cohn had detailed his plans to rebuild America’s roads, the president was writing down how he wanted to trash Steve Bannon the next time someone asked him about it.” The 399-page A Hill to Die On, a deep dive into Congress in the age of Trump, will be released Thursday.
