One day before Memorial Day, President Trump took to Twitter to mourn the “young and beautiful lives” he says were “devastated and destroyed” by the ongoing Russia investigation. “They journeyed down to Washington, D.C., with stars in their eyes and wanting to help our nation...They went back home in tatters!” he tweeted Sunday. It wasn’t clear to whom the president was referring, but he has previously expressed sympathy for Michael Flynn, the national security adviser he fired who later admitted to lying to the FBI about talking sanctions with Russia’s ambassador.
