‘TOTALLY ALLOWED’

“I’ve decided to stay out. Now, I don’t have to stay out, as you know,” the president told Reuters.

In an interview with Reuters, President Donald Trump said Monday that he is not involved in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, but insisted that he could run the probe if he desired. “I’ve decided to stay out. Now, I don’t have to stay out, as you know. I can go in and I could... do whatever, I could run it if I want,” he said. Trump also told the outlet that an interview with Mueller could be a “perjury trap” for him, expressing fears that his statements would contradict those of former FBI Director James Comey and others even if he were being truthful. “Even if I am telling the truth, that makes me a liar,” he insisted. “That’s no good.”
