Trump on Recount: ‘Nothing Will Change’

Calls Green Party’s efforts “sad.”

Donald Trump responded again to the Green Party-fueled recount in Wisconsin, saying it will not change the outcome of the race in that state, which he won by 27,000 votes. “Hillary Clinton conceded the election when she called me just prior to the victory speech and after the results came in. Nothing will change,” Trump tweeted early Sunday morning. Clinton’s campaign team has since joined the recount effort, spearheaded by the Green Party’s Jill Stein, in order to “ensure that it is fair to all sides.” Stein has also pledged to file for recounts in Michigan and Pennsylvania—two other heavily Democratic states that Trump won.

In a later tweetstorm, Trump quoted Hillary Clinton when she said during the campaign that Trump had to accept the results of the election no matter what, and separately when she said after the election that Trump is owed “an open mind and the chance to lead.” He added: “So much time and money will be spent—same result! Sad.”
