President Donald Trump acknowledged Tuesday that his pick to lead the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Ronny Jackson, might withdraw from his confirmation hearing, which has already been postponed in light of recent allegations about his workplace behavior. “I don’t want to put a man through a process like this,” Trump said, according to The New York Times. “The fact is, I wouldn’t do it. What does he need it for? To be abused by a number of politicians?” “It's totally his decision,” Trump added. He also called the allegations against the current White House physician “ugly.” This comes as The Daily Beast reported that lawmakers “have been instructed to no longer push for Jackson’s confirmation” after allegations emerged that he “was hostile to co-workers, struggled with alcohol use, and over-prescribed medications” while in the Navy and the White House.
