As usual, President Trump shot off a series of tweets early Friday, this time proposing that if the Senate GOP’s bid to overhaul the Affordable Care Act doesn’t pass, “they should immediately REPEAL, and then REPLACE at a later date!” Notably, Trump’s proposal is the opposite of what he suggested after he won the election, but it does echo another pitch made Thursday by Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), who opposes the Senate bill because he believes it doesn’t go far enough. Paul’s suggestion was to split up the bill into a “clean repeal” that the whole of the GOP caucus can support, with a second health-care spending bill to come later. The president also tweeted about Chicago’s crime rate. Hours later, he targeted Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, after the pair wrote a scathing Washington Post op-ed that claimed he was “not well” after he attacked the Morning Joe co-hosts Thursday.
