President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday that will aim to slash federal regulations. According to reports, the order requires that two regulations be eliminated for every one that is created or added, with exceptions for matters of national security. While signing the directive in the Oval Office, Trump called it “the largest ever cut by far in terms of regulation.” Trump has signed executive orders nearly every day since he took office on January 20, and has received pushback from Democrats and even some Republicans on Capitol Hill over the implementation and planning for the order he signed on Friday which temporarily suspends the refugee program and bans travel from seven Muslim-majority countries.
