Trump Slams ‘Ungrateful Traitor’ Chelsea Manning After Watching Fox News
Saw a Fox segment mischaracterizing Manning’s words; copied their wording anyway.

Despite his own long history of calling former President Barack Obama a “weak” leader, President Donald Trump on Thursday morning went after Army leaker Chelsea Manning for her critical words about Obama’s leadership style. “Ungrateful TRAITOR Chelsea Manning, who should never have been released from prison, is now calling President Obama a weak leader,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “Terrible!” Trump had seemingly been inspired by Manning’s new Guardian column lamenting how often Obama compromised on his progressive vision. But upon further examination, it becomes clear he hadn’t read the column and instead tweeted in response to a Fox News segment. A Fox & Friends segment’s chyron used the exact words “Ungrateful Traitor” while host Abby Huntsman characterized Manning as having described Obama as “weak”—a word never actually used by the former Army intel officer.
