Despite Republican hesitance on the matter.

President-elect Donald J. Trump on Tuesday urged Republicans to immediately repeal the Affordable Care Act—President Obama’s signature health-care legislation—and replace it as “quickly” as possible. “We have to get to business,” he said, according to The New York Times. “Obamacare has been a catastrophic event.” The president-elect’s urging comes in opposition to the growing number of Republican lawmakers who either prefer to repeal the law and take time to negotiate a replacement, or, prefer to wait for that replacement before voting on a repeal. Trump further told the Times that the vote should happen “probably some time next week,” and that “the replace will be very quickly or simultaneously, very shortly thereafter.” He added of the law: “It’s a catastrophic event. I feel that repeal and replace have to be together, for very simply, I think that the Democrats should want to fix Obamacare. They cannot live with it, and they have to go together.”
