Donald Trump may not be running for president, but that isn’t stopping him from getting involved in the race. The businessman and reality-TV star announced Friday that he will team up with Newsmax to moderate a Republican debate on Dec. 27. Newsmax sent an invitation to the Republican candidates Friday afternoon announcing the new debate, but how many candidates will attend is still unclear. While Trump’s own flirtation with the Republican nomination ended in May, he has remained influential in many GOP circles and is sure to provide even more viral sensations. His visit with Sarah Palin during her flirtation for the nomination caused somewhat of a media frenzy, and he has met with GOP candidates Michele Bachmann, Rick Perry, Herman Cain, and even Mitt Romney—who avoided having his photo taken with Trump.
