Donald Trump is scheduled to give testimony in a breach-of-contract suit in Trump Tower the first week of January, just weeks before his inauguration. Trump’s suit is against a restaurant group who terminated their contract with the president-elect’s new D.C. hotel after he made anti-Hispanic comments in his June 2015 campaign announcement speech. In return, Trump accused the restaurant group of breaking contract. Trump’s deposition could last up to seven hours, and was initially scheduled to take place in Washington D.C. until his lawyers changed the location to his home base of Trump Tower in New York, citing “security reasons.” The restaurant group was skeptical about Trump’s demands. “It seems dubious that the President-elect cannot be afforded adequate security in the capital of the United States, but Defendants are willing to accommodate that demand,” the group wrote a D.C. judge.
