President Trump on Tuesday called Otto Warmbier’s death a “total disgrace.” He added, “That should never ever be allowed to happen.” Trump said he believes if North Korea had returned the 22-year-old—who was held prisoner in the country for 17 months—sooner, “the result would have been a lot different.” Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) also said Tuesday that Americans who travel to North Korea are “stupid” and should have to sign a waiver absolving the U.S. government of any responsibility for their safety.
