President Trump has reversed his decision to not lower the Americans flag to honor the murdered journalists of the Capital Gazette. Trump ordered the flags to be flown at half-staff “as a mark of solemn respect for the victims of the terrible act,” according to a press release. Annapolis Mayor Gavin Buckley said Trump originally declined his request to lower the flags. Press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders denied this, saying “Last night, as soon as the president heard about the request from the mayor he ordered the flags to be lowered.” Five staffers were fatally shot in the Capital Gazette newsroom in Annapolis, Maryland, last week.
